The shampoo chamber accepts any liquid pet shampoo. Avoid thick, gel-consistency shampoos — they can clog the mixing nozzle. Thin, water-consistency shampoos flow through the mixing port most reliably. Use a small amount (1-2 pumps) per bath to prevent soap buildup in the mechanism.
The spray is described as gentle. However, any direct water spray on a water-averse cat will cause stress regardless of pressure level. This device does not make bath-avoidant cats enjoy bathing — it makes the process more thorough for cats who tolerate bathing. For highly stressed cats, a damp cloth wipe-down or dry shampoo may be more humane.
After applying shampoo mode, you switch back to rinse mode and pass the 360° spray over the coat again. For thick double-coated breeds (Huskies, Samoyeds), a single rinse pass leaves shampoo residue near the skin. Run the rinse cycle twice, working from back to front, for complete shampoo removal.
The 360° spray penetrates the outer coat but may not reach the dense undercoat on very long-haired breeds without manual parting. Lift sections of fur during the wash to direct water to the skin level. The device improves efficiency but does not replace manual technique for dense coats.
